Ribbon Cutting Cermony

Before a throng of media and honored guests, the ribbon was cut and visitors were welcomed into the galleries of “Sacred Encounters:  Father De Smet & the Indians of The Rocky Mountain West” exhibit.  The Old Mission visitor center is open 362 days a year and is located on I90, exit 39 in Cataldo, Idaho.  INW was thrilled to provide the infrastructure and device installation for the gallery AV presentation portions.

The Old Mission State Park  has the oldest standing building in all of Idaho.  It was constructed between 1850 and 1853 by Catholic missionaries and members of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe.  The Association for Sacred Encounters, a non-profit organization that works closely with the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Idaho Parks & Recreation and local citizens, has completed the new 9,000 square foot visitor center and other capital improvements for the park. The group is also planning to install the award-winning exhibition “Sacred Encounters: Father De Smet & the Indians of the Rocky Mountain West” to help tell the fascinating story of the Mission, the tribe and the missionaries who created it.  INW will be providing system device installation for the gallery spaces and we are pleased to be included in the installation phase as the projects nears its culmination.  Tentative delivery of system components is slated for late summer 2011.

INW is chosen by Avidex as their systems build partner to support a large, high profile project in the Queen Anne district of Seattle .  Our duties ranged from  inventory        tracking, support for the engineering system documentation to complex rack builds.  The project required tight time lines with 'just in time' delivery to be a successful            integration with other construction trades.  Thru a tight partnership with Avidex, INW was able to deliver a product that was fully tested and documented before being         deployed to the field, which allowed Avidex to keep a stringent test and commissioning schedule thru the winter of 2011.

INW is selected to support the Ground Breaking Ceremony of "LeMay - America's Car Museum".  Harold LeMay Museum officials held a groundbreaking ceremony June 10 to mark the beginning of construction on their new facility. When completed, the museum will showcase the collection of the late Harold E. LeMay, billed as the largest collection of classic and vintage automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles in the world.   After nearly a decade in development, this significant milestone was the commencing of construction on the largest automotive Museum in North America.   Attendees included Nancy LeMay, Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland, and Washington State Governor Chris Gregoire.

MARCH 2010

Sound Lab re-opens to the public with a members only pre-screening the morning of March 23rd.  The updated interior treatments, new musical instruments along with the updated software interface, add to the already effervescent ambience of the architecturally interesting space.

FEBRUARY 2010

Removal of the existing devices and cabling begins in earnest.  A tight time line will require coordination efforts to insure spaces are turned over to each department as scheduled to keep work flowing in a timely manner.  All team members are anxious to expedite their tasks to allow the museum techs their fully allotted time to do the instrument installation.  Challenges that do arise are minimized and the install goes very well due to trade coordination.

JANUARY 2010

INW, working with the EMP|SFM museum tech team, coordinates the planned upgrade for the ever popular Sound Lab space.  Since it's opening the summer of 2000, EMP and the ensuing Science Fiction Museum have allowed scores of visitors a first hand look at exhibit pieces that would otherwise be stored behind closed doors.  The Sound Lab's hands on creative opportunities have always been a driving force behind the patron draw of the facility, not to mention the architectural design.

AUGUST 2009

Another home automation project, this time there is no crawl space to run the cabling up into the walls.  Consequently there are penetrations required into the walls and ceiling areas to pull cable to the desired locations.  Systematic installation procedures are implemented to insure that all cabling, along with future use needs, are installed all at once.  Some patching to the drywall and a spot of paint makes it look like the project was in place from the time the house was built.   Along with the HAI install, a home theater with a 92" screen and 5.1 surround audio system was installed.  The audio from the HT also became a source for the HAI HiFi audio which allows it to be distributed throughout the project and individually selected on a room by room basis.  The kitchen touch panel as well as the master bedroom keypad, allows for full house control.

MAY 2009

INW starts its first official home automation installation using Home Automation Inc. (HAI) products.  The installation uses HAI products exclusively and is being implemented in an existing home so there are challenges aplenty with unknowns hidden behind sheetrock.  Programming of the project is coming along nicely with the interactive software.

FEBRUARY 2009

Back to the large house for trim out and owner requested adjustments.  Some updates to the adjacent property project program that required infrastructure adjustments which were accomplished quickly and easily due to the modular installation design employed.

INW also starts into the home automation arena in earnest.  We begin to invest in installer training of our staff for multiple device and vendor disciplines' in an effort to be able to provide our clients the best information on which to make informed choices based on their specific needs.

DECEMBER 2008

Another residence, this one overlooking the Pacific Ocean that INW was responsible for the infrastructure installation along with the documentation and pathway coordination with the on-site trades.  While waiting for the trim out phase of the large residence started in September, we dove into this project working with the same teams from the previous two years of our large project portfolio.  Coordination with these teams was a breeze, as with the other projects as we all were familiar with each others needs even more so by now.

SEPTEMBER 2008

With the adjacent property structure complete, another opportunity arose to provide infrastructure installation support on a new 12,000 sq. ft residence with similar infrastructure requirements and interior design needs.  In addition to the residential work now ongoing, the site conduit infrastructure work was also included in our scope of work, to document not only the underground pathways accurately but also track their use and fill content by trade.

MAY 2008

After the log structure conversion was complete, there became an opportunity to provide infrastructure installation support on an adjacent property structure that was to include a CAT6, coaxial and UTP infrastructure with a fiber link to the office MEC.  This work was a coordination between the architectural and interior design needs of the client and the other trades to insure pathways were available to accommodate each discipline with its own unique needs.  INW was directly responsible for this coordination and the ensuing documentation that was to be left behind for the support staff.

NOVEMBER 2007

INW was invited to participate in the build out of a log framed structure to a modern office conversion a consultant for the data infrastructure.  This work was directly attributed to our previous association with team members from the EMP project.

AUGUST 2006

Working with the staff at Qwest Field, we were excited to be able to participate in the facility upgrades to the RF head end system and POS installation this summer.

JANUARY 2006

Early this year, Installers Northwest was selected to assist with the Audio Video design and installation portion of the new gallery space STARTUP: Albuquerque and the Personal Computer Revolution which will be located at the Museum of Natural History and Science in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

JUNE 2004

We are very proud to have been a part of the public opening for the Science Fiction and Hall of Fame Museum which took place on June 18th. Installation was completed, testing done and the spaces opened to a fanfare of media and honored guests. The public has taken very well to the gallery spaces and interactive exhibits. We hope you are able to stop by and have a look at the entire site this summer.

MAY 2004

We are very close to the public opening of SFM which is scheduled for mid-June. Final installation tweaks are being made and cleanup is being done. These galleries should provide hours of enjoyment and wonder for all age groups!

JUNE 2003

We continue to provide infrastructure coordination for the Experience Music Project Sci-Fi exhibit. It is scheduled to open for public participation in early summer of 2004.

MAY 2003

We have just completed our teams portion of the infrastructure work on the Experience Music Project, Yes Yes Y'All, the newest gallery space that opened to the public on May 8, 2003. This space will be home to Sweet Home Chicago exhibit starting September 27, 2003.
